Parent Information Evening

An online information evening will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, 19th October at 6:00pm.

Information given on this evening will aid in preparing your student in their transition to ASC. All parents and caregivers are strongly encouraged to attend. For further information, please visit this page.

BYOD

BYOD (bring your own device) is a school policy that enhances digital capacity in students to ready them for the future workplace. Students bring a device to make learning deeper, more personalised and student-centered.

If families are unable to provide a device due to financial constraints the school has a tiered process of support. Please make contact with Year Advisors, Stage HT (stage 4), Deputy (stage 4) or Mr Andrew Curry (Leader Technology & BYOD) to discuss our Loan options.

BYOD Structure

Our BYOD structure includes 2 tiers to ensure all students have access to technology to assist with their learning:-

  • Tier 1 - Outright Purchase - students purchase and bring their own laptop to school to assist with learning.

  • Tier 2 - Loan Device - YEAR 7 - students can apply for a day loan. Students are responsible for picking up and returning the device to the TSO daily, before and after school These devices cannot be taken home.

ASC BYOD documents:

Harvey Normal, JB HiFi and Hewlitt Packard all offer deal to ASC students for the purchase of laptop devices. Please see the ASC website for further information on the purchase of laptops and other BYOD information.

For further information, please contact Mr Andrew Curry (Leader Technology & BYOD) - via the school office.

Mobile Phones

ASC enforces a strict mobile phone policy. Students are not able to use a mobile phone during class time unless explicitly instructed by the teacher.

Students are able to use their mobile phones during recess and lunch breaks. If you need to contact your student during school hours, please contact the office and a physical message will be sent to your student.

Uniforms

ASC promotes the wearing of a school uniform as it relates to the overall image and tone of the school and reflects the school’s expectations of resilience, respect and responsibility. The wearing of a school uniform reflects our high community standards and expectations and ensures that the school is easily identifiable within the community. It contributes to our students’ feeling of equality, belonging and pride in their school.

The ASC uniform has been developed as a result of widespread consultation with students, parents and school community. It is intended to be a non-gender specific multiform, where items can be mixed and matched as desired, allowing students to express their individuality within a range of acceptable uniform items.

Parents are requested to endorse the wearing of school uniform. Families who are experiencing financial difficulty in acquiring the school uniform can seek assistance through the administration team at ASC.

  • Shoes - must have solid leather uppers and heel support, no open-toed shoes, sandals or canvas shoes are allowed in order to comply with Work Health and Safety Regulations.

  • A note must be brought from home if a student is unable to wear full uniform for that day. It is expected that this will not be a regular occurrence.

  • Repeated occurrences for not adhering to the formal uniform when representing the school may result in not being able to represent the school.

Further information on the school uniform policy can be found here.

For information on purchasing of school uniforms, please see this brochure.
