Welcome to the DPS Remote Learning Community website. A site designed to keep our school community informed and engaged during this uncertain and unprecedented period. Due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, some students may be required to isolate at home. The links below will assist students to continue their learning at home. Of course, if a child is unwell, there is no expectation that they complete work from the digital learning packs.
The Department of Education has provided digital learning packs that are easy-to-use activities for parents and carers to use with their child.
Two weeks worth of learning activities will be published each fortnight.
Each Year level has its own page where you can access your child’s learning tasks.
The digital learning packs can be accessed here.
Dundas Public School is committed to the continuity of student learning and to providing opportunities for students to connect, succeed and thrive whilst learning from home as highly engaged learners.

Principal
During these changing times, Dundas Public School will continue to provide learning activities that your child can access from home and will communicate with you about their learning.
If you have any queries about the learning activities or the online program please email us at dundas-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au.
Every home is different but it’s important to provide a quiet and comfortable space in which to learn.
Where possible, extended learning should take place in a space your family shares. For example, a lounge room or dining room. These spaces are preferable over a bedroom, where your child can feel isolated and supervision can be more challenging.
It should be a place:
that can be quiet at times
that has a strong internet signal, if possible
where you or another adult is present as you would normally when your child is online, dependent on age
The following link will help you understand how to help your child learn at home including:
Your responsibilities – there are things you will need to do to help your child learn from home such as setting routines, finding a quiet space and asking how their learning is progressing.
Your child’s responsibilities – your child will also need to follow the routines set for them and complete the tasks the teacher assigns doing their best work
How to plan their day – your school should give you some advice and a guide for what your child should be doing during a day
Looking after their wellbeing – you will need to make sure they have breaks, drink water and are not getting stressed or anxious
Communication – it will be important that you talk to your child regularly about their learning. Your child’s teacher and/or the school will communicate with you and tell you how to get in touch with them.
Using technology and screen time – it will be important that you supervise your child to use technology safely and put limits on the time they spend online.
