Welcome to the Nebraska Native Youth Gathering Conference Website!
Event Title: Strengthening Indigenous Leaders: Mind, Body and Spirit
Event Date: April 28, 2021
Event Time: 8:30 to 12:00 CT
The 2021 Nebraska Native Youth Gathering will take place in a virtual environment, which will allow youth from all regions of Nebraska to attend.
Designed to engage 9th-12th grade students, who identify as Nebraska American Indian youth, this annual gathering aims to enhance the individual and collective understanding of spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical well-being.
The annual Gathering provides Native youth an opportunity
to connect with their peers from across the state of Nebraska;
to gain traditional Native knowledge, skills, and practices;
to share personal experiences; and
to consider future career and college opportunities.
The Nebraska Native Youth Gathering centers on the idea of honoring the Sacred Hoop - body, spirit, heart, and mind. Sessions address each of these components, emphasizing the importance for youth to examine their higher selves through information, connections, and experiences shared during the Gathering.
