TeachMeets are 'unconferences' focusing on educational technology.  Unconference means we don’t charge anything to attend and sessions are decided upon by participants. Typically TeachMeets are fast-paced (20 min sessions), tech sharing, friend-making, and never boring gatherings of people sharing resources for education.

TeachMeets were started in the United Kingdom and brought to the US by Jason Bedell (@jasontbedell). TeachMeet Nashville, April 2010 was the first TeachMeet in the US. Those who attended this event were inspired to spread the TeachMeet format across the US.

TeachMeet was quickly brought to Bowling Green, Kentucky by the efforts of Allen Martin and Will King.  Thousands of educators from Kentucky and beyond have attended the TeachMeet events ever since.

The Digital Learning Coaches in Kentucky have taken the lead to provide more TeachMeet events across the state, including this one.
