(UA: 2012 – 2013): UA is always blessed to have had the honour and privilege to educate some eminent reincarnates of great Buddhist Masters “Trulkus”. Trulku Rimpoche Ngawang Tenpey Nyima completed his middle secondary school with first division marks but chose to continue with monastic education under the tutelage of Central Monastic Body. Currently he blesses all sentient beings from “Seula Gonpa” (Seula Chokhor Dorjeden, a Drukpa Kagyu monastery in Bhutan).
(UA 2005-2010): A graduate of the world renowned Handong Global Univeristy and currently serves as a lawyer in the Korean Army
(UA 2009–2012): National BHSEC Topper 2012. A champion for climate action and youth participation in decision-making, she worked as an Article 6 negotiator at COP 27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt (Nov 2022).
(UA 2013–2018): An environmentalist and climate scientist, she became the first Bhutanese to travel to Antarctica. Currently studying for a Master's in Geophysics at the University of Texas, El Paso, she researches melting glaciers.
(UA 2013–2014): Topped the 2014 BHSEC National Examinations and earned scholarships to both Harvard and MIT. He chose to study computer science at Harvard, where he interned in the NLP department. He now works for Microsoft.
(2008-2009): He is the Head of Governance, Policy & Development at Druk Holding and Investments (DHI). A Digital Engineer with expertise in crypto currency and block chain, he is also one of the key team members behind the development of the National Digital Identity (NDI) initiative. A member of the GMC Team.
(UA 2008–2009): An emerging space scientist currently pursuing post-doctoral research in Japan. She contributed to Bhutan's first satellite, BHUTAN-1, a CubeSat (nano-satellite).
(UA 2011–2012): Among the hundreds of UA alumni pursuing careers in medicine, Dr. Passang exemplifies “SMART” through his resilience and dedication. Recognized for his diligence, he was awarded an International Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cuba in 2021.
(UA: 2008–2011), currently serving as a GDMO at Punakha General Hospital, completed her MBBS from the prestigious University of Colombo in 2016. She is now a registered Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCS), having passed the highly competitive MRCS Part A and Part B examinations with distinction in straight sets, achieving this remarkable feat in a single sitting.
(UA 2004 – 2007): Completed her B Sc Mathematics (Hons) from Wollongong University, Australia and earned the prestigious European Union (EU) Fusion scholarship to complete her M Sc Mathematics from Mälardalen University, or MDU, Sweden. She was also the recipient of the “Golden Key Award in Mathematics” Wollongong University. Currently the Head of Department of Science and Humanities and the Secretary of IEEE, at CST, RUB, Bhutan.
(UA 2016–2019): A passionate swimmer since his early years, he trained in Thailand with FINA and represented Bhutan at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. He also competed in the Men's 100m Freestyle at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
(UA 2011–2012): A professional footballer, Chencho plays for Liga 2's Sriwijaya and captains Bhutan's national team. Nicknamed "CG7" or "Bhutanese Ronaldo," he has played for top Indian clubs like Bengaluru FC and Kerala Blasters. Bhutan's all-time leading international goalscorer, he's the country's first fully professional footballer.
(UA 2012–2013): A bright commerce student who became the most qualified FIFA/AFC-certified referee at BFF, with international exposure. She completed her degree from Gedu College of Business Studies but pursued a career in sports.
(UA: 2009–2010): A distinguished student leader, Jigme served as UA's School Captain in 2010. He was a talented athlete, playing pivotal roles on both the UA Football and Basketball teams. His passion for sports continued beyond school, and he made the nation proud by helping secure the Five Nations Championship trophy in 2023. Jigme currently serves as the Head of Finance and Credit at Bhutan Insurance Limited.
(UA: 2013–2015): Although a doctor by profession, Dr. Namgay Phuntsho Rabgay is also a passionate basketball player. He completed his MBBS at KDU, Sri Lanka. Alongside fellow UA alumni Mr. Jigme Younten, Mr. Ugyen Kelzang, and Mr. Phub Gyeltshen, Dr. Namgay contributed to securing the prestigious Five Nations Championship trophy for the nation in 2023, bringing pride to both the country and their alma mater.
(UA 2005–2006): A prominent choreographer, film director, producer, and actor in Dzongkha-language films. He made his directorial debut with the hit movie Nga Mr. Perfect and directed the blockbuster Aum Penjor (2024).
(UA: 2021-2022): A highly popular blogger with over fifty thousand youth followers, Yeezang Yeshi Delkar is currently pursuing her MBBS degree at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka
(UA 2017–2018): A renowned singer-songwriter and UNICEF National Youth Ambassador for Bhutan. He gained national fame with his hit song “Choe Thom Da” (2015), and continues to use his music and platform to inspire youth and advocate for social causes. In 2023, his song “Phudosa” reached international acclaim, even charting in Australia.
(UA 2015–2018): A distinguished full lieutenant in the RBA, he won the prestigious Deccan Horse Trophy in 2021. In May 2024, he became the first Bhutanese to summit Mount Everest.
(UA 2007–2008): Former school captain, now the captain with Bhutan Airlines. Several UA graduates have followed in his footsteps, flying for various airlines.
(UA: 2004-2005): Currently the General Manager of the Information Technology Division, he was a prodigy in science and mathematics during his time at UA. Mr. Budhi Krishna holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication from Anna University, India, and a master’s degree from Murdoch University, Australia. With over 12 years of experience, he has held diverse roles in value-added services, system engineering, and enterprise networking.
(UA: 2004-2005): Gaki was the 3rd National Topper in the BHSEC (Class XII) Arts Stream in 2005 and later secured the top position (1st) in the Bhutan Civil Service Examination in 2009. She completed the prestigious IAS Officer’s Course at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie, India (2014-2016). Additionally, she holds a Master’s in Environmental Management and Development from the Australian National University (ACT), which she completed in 2019. Gaki has served in the erstwhile GNH Commission Secretariat and currently works as a Project Management Specialist with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Bhutan.
(UA: 2002–2003): She was an extremely popular actress and fitness model. Her debut film, Lengo, was a major hit. She also earned the title of Miss Fitness Bhutan (Mother Fitness) in 2017 and won a bronze medal at the World Championship in Mongolia the same year. She is married to Mr. Tandin Wangchen, who was crowned World Champion at the 14th World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship in 2023 in South Korea. Together, they run River Valley Hotels and fitness gyms in Punakha, Paro, and Thimphu.
(UA: 2005-2006): Dorji Wangdi won the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) award in 2019 for his performance in the movie Rubey Nyaka Phushey. Though he works full-time as a legal officer at Bhutan National Bank (BNB), he is also a prominent social media advocate and leads "Rangi Ngotak," a cultural advocacy program. Rangi Ngotak is dedicated to raising awareness, educating, and creating a positive impact in Bhutanese society and beyond. On October 19, 2023, Rangi Ngotak received the divine blessings of His Holiness, the 70th Je Khenpo, a significant honor for the organization.
