A portrait of a graduate is a collective vision of what all high school students will know and be able to do by graduation. To create it, educators, parents, students, and community members work together to articulate a robust definition of student success in school and beyond. This process offers an opportunity to outline a community’s own values, align work that’s already in place, bridge existing gaps, and guide future decision-making.

After connecting with nearly 400 Franklin community members including students, parents, teachers, city leaders and citizens, our Working Team looked at all the data and created this Portrait of a Franklin Graduate. Throughout the 2021-2022 school year, Franklin School District is going to embark on a Year of Joyful Play as we consider how learners are already meeting the goals of the community and how our Portrait can guide us so that each Franklin learner is successful in the community.
