Genocide of Cambodia 

Pol Pot, the leader of the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia from 1975 to 1979, committed egregious and tough crimes against humanity. Under his rule, an estimated 1.7 million Cambodians died due to execution, forced labor, starvation, disease and torture . 

The brutality of Pol Pot's regime left a lasting scar on Cambodia, with survivors haunted by the memories of atrocities committed during his reign.
