The people in the course: instructors and participants

The instructors Iacopo Falciani and Lorenzo Gaspari were always professional, encouraging and helpful.

The participants were colleagues from different countries: Heila, Alex and Misha came from Germany; Vass, Ioannes, Kalina, Maria, Antonio, Ursula, Eleni and Eftychia came from Greece; Reenee, Camilla and Marie came from Sweden and Stoianka came from Serbia. I was the only Spaniard in the group.

The activities: what I learned


During the course, we attended classes for 5 hours every day. The lessons were alternately in the morning (from 9:00 to 14:00) and in the afternoon (from 14:00 to 19:00).

Day 1

The first day, we started with some team building activities to get to know each other. Then, some of us showed a presentation of our schools and Erasmus+ projects. We also learned how to use Trello and Padlet.

Day 2

On our second day, we worked in small groups using EdPuzzle. In the afternoon, there was a guided walking tour of Florence.

Day 3

On day 3, we learned how to use TedEd, Quizziz and Quizlet and worked in small groups trying the apps out.

Day 4

On day 4, we learned how to use Stop Motion Studio and Plickers and worked in small groups in order to make a video using Stop Motion Studio.

Day 5

On day 5, we learned how to use augmented reality and Goose Chase. Using this app, we participated in a fun scavenger hunt about the city of Florence, which allowed us to learn some very interesting facts. 

Day 6

Day 6 was devoted to cultural activities, so we visited Pisa, San Gimignano and Siena, which was an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

From theory to pratice: working with students

Activity 1: Where am I?

Students work jointly using their mobiles to answer a quiz on European languages and countries.

Activity 2: The languages challenge 

Using the Goosechase app, students work in teams in order to complete as many challenges as possible within the time limit. They submit their videos or photos to prove they have completed the challenge and get points.
