Library Information

a (Very) quick guide to the library

What Can You Borrow?

  • 2 Books for up to 3 weeks

  • You can renew them a maximum of 3 times

  • Return your books on time - other students may be waiting for them

  • Look after your books - if damaged, water stained, or lost, you will need to pay for a replacement (watch out for leaky water bottles in bags!).

How Do You Find Books?

Fiction books are shelved alphabetically by author surname and arranged in three sections:

  • Teenage: age 12+

  • Young Adult: age 14+

  • Senior: age 16+

Non-fiction is arranged using the Dewey Decimal System.

The Dewey Decimal system is a classification system used by libraries to arrange books via subject. Each book is issued a shelfmark number, found on the spine of the book, and arranged in numerical order.

This makes the information you need much easier to find.
