Added Value Unit: English Assignment
The purpose of this Added Value Unit is to provide learners with the opportunity to apply their language skills to investigate and report on a chosen topic. This assignment will allow the learner to demonstrate challenge and application. In Musselburgh Grammar this can be done through exploring song lyrics and poetry, comparing propaganda posters from WW1 and anti-war poetry from around the same time. There are various possibilities open to our learners and it provides an excellent opportunity for pupils to write about a topic of their own choosing and area of interest.
