We are part of the Health and Wellbeing faculty and the Faculty Leader is Mr. A. McDonald.
Lessons run as follows at different levels in BGE:
S1 - 1 Lesson a week, half the year in Food and half the year in textiles. There is a mix of practical and theory through out the year.
S2 - 1 Lesson a week, half the year in Food and half the year in textiles. here is a mix of practical and theory through out the year.
S3 Electives- Health and Food Technology or Professional Cookery - 3 Lessons a week - 1 Lesson Practical 2 Lessons Theory.
Lessons run as follows at different levels in Senior Phase:
HFT Level 5 - Available to all of senior phase students. A mix of theory and practical over four single lessons a week. Practical lessons will fall away during the months that coursework assignments take place.
Practical Cake Craft Level 5- Only available to sixth year students. Six lessons a week including two doubles. Lessons are a mix of theory and practical.
Professional Cookery Level 5 - Available to senior phase students. Four lessons a week including one double. Lessons are a mix of theory and practical.
Health and Food Technology Level 6 - Available to all senior phase students. Six lessons a week including one double. Lessons are a mix of theory and practical. Practical lessons will fall away during the months that coursework assignments take place.
In an effort to reduce packaging waste we would appreciate any pupils who can bring in their own food storage tub to take food home in doing so.
