Dirleton Primary School
Welcome to Our School
Dirleton Primary is a small rural school located in the conservation village of Dirleton, which lies between Gullane and North Berwick. The school was opened on the present site in 1912, it is a traditional stone building which was refurbished and extended in 2013. There are 4 classrooms, a gym hall, a library, lunch hall and a general-purpose room used as a calm, nurturing space for our pupils. We also benefit from having an outdoor classroom as well as access to our School Orchard which we created as part of our centenary celebrations in 2012.
In partnership with parents and our wider school community we provide experiences of the highest quality to support all pupils to achieve their dreams. We encourage and support their aspirations through shared values and by providing relevant, meaningful learning opportunities that meet their educational, personal and emotional needs.
Our aspirational vision for children & families is to...
Dream it, Live it, Achieve it
Parent Engagement Strategy Engagement Strategy
Parental Engagement Strategy was launched by East Lothian Council in 2017 and aims to ensure that all Parents/Carers are encouraged and supported to engage as partners in their children’s learning, and to become involved in the life of the school. The strategy also ensures that it can continue to build on good practice and create further opportunities for our parents and schools to work together. There is now a consultation on the Parental Engagement Strategy that is available for completion until 31st March.
