SCHS Newsletter
Welcome to June! It is hard to believe that we are at the end. We have had a very successful year - our teams have won banners, our music and drama groups have attended and won provincials, CTS students attended, competed and won at Skills and our students have been successful in their academic classes. The final month is so important - this is the time to prepare for finals, and look forward to new opportunities in the fall.
We look forward to celebrating the academic success of our graduating students on June 27. The final plans are falling into place. Graduation is a very special time. We are celebrating 13 years of school; this is an impressive achievement. Congratulations to our grade 12’s for their diligent and hard work!
Next year will see our school have a population over 1000 students! This is exciting, and it brings some challenges. We will have new staff in some areas, and we look forward to introducing you to them in the fall. Sturgeon Public Schools has also received approval to start collegiate programming, focusing on the skilled trades, aviation, Indigenous Studies and architecture. This is a great opportunity for our students to begin work with post secondary institutions to help fast track and build on their career aspirations. More information will follow this fall.
On behalf of the entire staff of SCHS, I want to say thank you to all of our families for your continued support this year. Your support is what helps make our school an amazing place to be. We wish you and your family a restful summer. We will see you in August!
