SCHS Newsletter
June Newsletter 2026
Welcome to summer! This year has been challenging and rewarding. Our students rose to the challenge and have finished the year strong. We have won banners, music competitions and drama festivals. We hosted provincial tournaments, local tournaments, concerts, art shows and drama productions. We competed in Skills and partnered with our Collegiate staff in Building Futures and Flight Pathways. Our students have found their passions, and they bring that energy and enthusiasm to SCHS each and every day. Thank you to our students for making this year another great year; we have loved watching you grow, learn and become strong and confident young adults.
Thank you to our entire staff for your tireless energy and support this year. You live for our students, and it shows. We are grateful that you share your passions and talents with our students. Finally, thank you to our parents and community for your continued support. It truly takes a village to raise our students, and you have shown up in so many ways.
Have a great summer! For our grads, we wish you well in your future endeavors. We look forward to seeing all of our new and returning students in August.

A Message to the Class of 2026
The Class of 2026 has officially completed their high school journey. Throughout their time at SCHS, they have demonstrated resilience, perseverance, and school spirit. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make as they begin the next chapter of their lives.
Once a Spirit, Always a Spirit!
Congratulations to Valedictorian Tyler Woodburn!
We are proud to recognize Tyler Woodburn as the Class of 2026 Valedictorian and the recipient of the Desmond Hovis Memorial Congeniality Award. Donated by the graduating Class of 1994 in memory of Des Hovis, this award recognizes a graduating student who embodies kindness, warmth, and positivity through their cheerful spirit, sense of humour, willingness to help others, and involvement in the school or community. Tyler’s genuine character and positive impact on those around him make him a truly deserving recipient.
