March 2026
Dear Camilla Families,
As we move into March, there are many exciting events and important opportunities ahead for our students and families at Camilla School.
Recently, families of students in Grades 4–7 received the Alberta Education Assurance Measure Survey. This survey provides valuable feedback that helps guide our school and division planning. The information gathered plays an important role in helping us understand what is working well and where we can continue to grow. I encourage all eligible families to take a few moments to complete the survey. Your voice truly matters. If you have any questions about the survey or need assistance accessing it, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
We are also looking forward to our Junior High student play on March 17th. Our students and staff have been working very hard in preparation, and we are excited to showcase their talents. We hope many families will be able to attend and support our performers.
Our basketball season is wrapping up, and I would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of our community coaches and teacher coaches who generously give their time to support our student-athletes. Their commitment provides incredible opportunities for our students to grow, compete, and develop both skills and character. We are very grateful for their dedication.
Parent-Teacher Interviews will take place on March 18th and 19th. These conferences are an important opportunity to connect, celebrate student successes, and discuss ongoing learning. We value the strong partnership between home and school and encourage all families to participate.
Finally, Spring Break will take place at the end of March. We hope this provides families with an opportunity to rest, recharge, and spend quality time together.
As always, thank you for your continued support of Camilla School and our school community.
Warm regards,
Kevin Elias
Principal, Camilla School

Raising children in a digital world can be challenging. The Unplugged Pledge helps families work together to support healthy technology habits and student well-being.
1. Mental Health
Early smartphone use is linked to increased anxiety and social pressure. Delaying smartphones helps students grow with fewer digital stresses and more emotional support.
2. Better Focus & Sleep
Without constant notifications, children sleep better and focus more—supporting learning, mood, and daily routines at home and at school.
3. Real Connection
Phones can distract from friendships and family time. Unplugging encourages in-person play, meaningful conversations, and stronger relationships.
4. Community Support
When five families in a grade pledge together, Unplugged connects them. Shared expectations make healthy habits easier to maintain.
5. A Positive Culture Shift
Each pledge helps build a school-wide culture that prioritizes balance, well-being, and responsible technology use.

Thank you to all the parent volunteers for organzing another great year of Hot Lunch!! Reminder to get your orders in 5 days prior to the dates.
At Camilla School, we are committed to fostering safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments for all students. One of the key tools we use to achieve this is the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCIS) system. TCIS is a trauma-informed, division-wide framework designed to help staff prevent crises, de-escalate potential conflicts, and support students in developing healthy emotional regulation and coping skills. This system not only enhances safety and well-being but also promotes stronger relationships between students, staff, and families. Â
