We have Erasmus+ accreditation
Quality guaranteed with every mobility!
Since 2021, we have had the backing of the Erasmus+ accreditation to further our international endeavours. Our consortium consists of Pyhäjoen lukio, Saaren koulu (the primary and secondary school), Yppärin koulu, a smaller village primary school and and Kindergarten Päiväkoti Kivitasku. The main consortium members are Pyhäjoen lukio and Saaren koulu. The Erasmus+ coordinators are Ms Minna Lapinkangas and Ms Marianne Salmivuori.
Applying for KA121-SCH every year for 15 months allows us in Pyhäjoen lukio to study Physics and History in Lund (Sweden) + Copenhagen (Denmark) or Hamburg (Germany) . You can also choose History or Social Studies in Belgium. These are all group mobilities, however, there are also individual student mobilities in exchange with a school in Hamburg (Germany).
Adhering to the ever greener rules of the EU in the future, we aim to travel closer to home and find ways to compensate our air travel.
That doesn't mean we wouldn't receive anyone from further afield!

Our Erasmus+ Plan has three main objectives
The children and young people in Pyhäjoki will enjoy more opportunities in the international fields both within Erasmus+ mobilities and homegrown international practices
Acquiring, introducing and developing new pedagogical approaches in particular from the point of view of student well-being
Establishing and maintaining the scope of international networks and cultural competences of the teaching staff
Being an Erasmus+ coordinator can get busy but the rewards are great; it makes you feel proud to be able to encourage students and staff to grow more international and embrace diversity in all its forms.
Erasmus+ not only offers opportunities to further one's language skills but also aids professional requirements and pedagogical skills.
Not to mention make you laugh with your wonderful partners from all over Europe or sourcing northern lights made out of cardboard if not managing to catch the real ones...
