FINLAND

Arppe school (Arppen koulu)  is situated in Kitee, eastern Finland, close to the Russian border.

Kitee is a small town with 10,000 inhabitants.

Arppe school consists of three units: Hutsi pre-school and grades 1-5 (ages 5-11), Rantala grades 1-6 (ages 7-12) and Arppe grades 7-9 (ages 13-16). 

There are 600 pupils in Arppe school.

Kitee upper secondary school (ages 16-19) is situated next to Arppe school.

Kitee is Erasmus accredited.

DENMARK

Ingrid Jespersens Gymnasieskole (Copenhagen, Denmark) is a private institution with a primary

and upper secondary school altogether 1000 students and 115 staff members. The school has

been actively involved in ERASMUS and Nordplus projects. The school will bring expertise to

our new project related to student-centered activities/projects and promoting wellbeing in terms

of physical activities and healthy lifestyles.

ICELAND

Landakotsskóli (Reykjavik, Iceland) has 360 students from 5 to 15 years old and 60

staff members. The school has two departments – international and Icelandic ones. According

to departments, the school implements Icelandic and Cambridge International Curriculum.

The school has recently involved both in Erasmus and Nordplus projects. The school

focuses on multicultural education, creativity and school development projects. One of the

school's expertise is related to creativity/art as a source of well-being. This will bring added

value to our new Nordplus project.

LITHUANIA

VDU Ugnė Karvelis gymnasium (Kaunas, Lithuania) is a secondary and an upper

secondary school for students of ages from 10-19. There are 1043 students more than 100

staff members at the school. The school has been active in several ERASMUS projects. The

expertise which will be used in the new Nordplus projects is related especially to social skills,

such as civic maturity and civic skills and moral education.
