Absences & Medication

A message from the office

ABSENCES

It is a shared responsibility to make sure all children make it to school safely and in good health. This is why it is so important for you to let us know when your child is absent and the reason for it. Contacting us with this information before 8 am prevents us from having to disturb your workday to make sure your child is safe.

To inform the school of your child's absence, there are 2 possibilities:

CHANGES TO YOUR CHILD'S END-OF-DAY ROUTINE

For security reasons, it is very important to inform us of any change (bus, daycare, pick-up) to your regular schedule before 1:00 pm.

Please call the school at (819) 474-8563 so we can make sure that Mrs. Hodak has time to transfer the information to your child's teacher.

MEDICATION at School

Only medicine prescribed by a doctor can be administered to children at school. If we need to administer medicine to your child, please call the office in order to fill out the consent form. Prescription medication must be kept under lock and key and given by an adult, and never left for the child to take alone.

We will not administer any medicine sold at a pharmacy without the expertise of a doctor.

It is not allowed for your child to have any medicine (including Tylenol, Benadryl, throat lozenges etc) in their lunch box and to take it on their own.

This is a safety issue and we appreciate your collaboration.
