Hello Purdy Panthers!

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year. My name is Kyobi Sumrall (pronounced 'Kee-yoh-bee' 'Summer-all' without the 'e'), and this will be my fourth year at Purdy Elementary. If you are new to Purdy, welcome to our school! I'm really looking forward to meeting you and getting to know you. If you are returning to Purdy, welcome back! We will be embarking on some new adventures this year.

All Kindergarten through 5th grade classes at Purdy Elementary will have General Music once a week for 40-minutes, but that time will be divided into synchronous and asynchronous learning time.

We will sing, play makeshift instruments, and learn what it means to be a part of a group. We have some challenges with online learning, but we will make the best of it.

We will also learn about musical instruments, some highlights of music history, different musical styles, and elements of basic music theory. Hang in there with us, as your teachers will be learning a lot along with you!
