The identification of Essential Standards is the first step in planning for instruction for the 2020-2021 school year. As you plan for a year of instruction with your students, use the following questions to guide your work:

1. What are the Essential Standards and how will I use these to prioritize student learning?

2. How will we know when students have achieved the learning specified in the Essential Standards?

3. What learning activities will help students achieve the learning specified in the Essential Standards?

4. What pre-assessments of knowledge and skills will we use to determine where students are before and during instruction?
