Procedures

As always, the safety of our dance family is our #1 priority. When students arrive at recital, they are not permitted to leave the venue while the recital is running. No student is to leave the backstage area before or during the show, no exceptions. 

Only Encore Dance Theatre staff and backstage moms are permitted backstage. We are unable to run messages or food to students, so please make sure they have everything before they come backstage for the recital.

Please do not bring anything valuable, especially electronic devices. Mobile phones are not to be taken backstage or in the changing areas during the recital. Encore Dance Theatre and the venue will take no responsibility if an item is damaged, misplaced, lost or stolen. DO NOT HAVE THEM WEAR ANYTHING VALUABLE. For example, do not have them wear their expensive or favorite pair of shoes, have them wear an inexpensive pair or their least favorite pair of shoes in case they are misplaced. Items can get lost in the back stage. Encore is not responsible for anything misplaced or lost.

Videography and photography is strictly prohibited during any part of the performance. We will have professionals attending on the day to provide these services for us leaving you free to sit back and enjoy the show in the moment! Lights and flashes can be very dangerous to the dancers. Your electronic devices, if used for taking pictures or videotaping will be taken by the ushers and/or security and held until the end of the show. Please let all your guests understand this rule.

Explicit language, inappropriate attire, offensive clothing and criminal behavior will not be tolerated. Consuming alcohol and smoking are not permitted.

If your child has any medical conditions that may require attention in our care or are carrying any medication with them, please notify our staff when you arrive.

Students must arrive at recital with hair and makeup done and in their first costume.

When being picked up at recital, a parent or guardian must be present for your child to be dismissed. Please do not ask your child to meet you outside the venue or in the car parking lot as a parent has to be seen by an Encore staff member in order for them to be released. We will dismiss all students from the front entrance of the theatre, which is the same place they are droppd off.
