Coding and Computational Thinking with CS First

Increase confidence, instil courage, grow perseverance, provide a sense of belonging, demonstrate an impact that computing science has in careers and communities and empower your students to create with technology using Google CS First - a free program run by educators and/or community volunteers. This session will provide an overview of Google's CS First program as well as offer a hands on introductory activity.

Design and Digital Technologies - Getting STEAMY!

This session will focus on science, technology, engineering, art and maths and how it can be embedded within the Design Technologies and Digital Technologies curricula. (F-10). We will look at examples of school maker-spaces, code clubs and learning labs as well as explore a wide range of resources to get you started, or provide inspiration for your school. Most importantly - we will get hands on with drones, droids, and all things maker!

Movie Making in the palm of your hands

This session is a hands on workshop on making movies using a variety of devices including iPads, iPhones, Android phones and tablets and web based applications such as YouTube Editor and WeVideo. Lots of examples will be shared on how incorporating movie making into your classroom can transform Learning and Teaching.

This session will look at Gamification and Game Based Learning. It will provide examples of gamification and GBL in an educational setting and examples of how to integrate them into teaching and learning experiences.

At Breakout EDU, we build immersive learning games. With this in mind, we will play a Breakout EDU game. You will be challenged with a series of clues and puzzles, engaging your group in solving complex problems in collaboration with one another.
