Bring the World into your Classroom with Google Geo Tools

This workshop takes you on a grand tour of Google's many amazing tools for virtually exploring the world. From Google Maps and Google Earth, to Streetview and Expeditions, we will learn to bring the whole world into our classroom, enabling you to take your students to far-away places. From there we will look at Google MyMaps, learning how to add your own information to maps for greater meaning and understanding. Finally we will spend some time exploring the Google Arts and Culture collection. This session is useful for teachers of any subject or age group.

I didn't know you could do that with Google!

This workshop will dive into some of the lesser known and more advanced features of the Google universe, and help you discover a range of timesaving tips and ideas. Aimed at the more intermediate/advanced user, we will take a look at some new features, check out some of the lesser known Google Tools, investigate a bunch of useful AddOns for automating your workflows, and ask you to share ideas on how you use these tools in your own classroom. Come along with your own questions and suggestions, and we can all learn together.

The things you can do with a Google Site!

Google Sites allows teachers and students to create beautiful and functional websites. Sites can create class websites, subject resource pages, etc, as well as being a great platform for building collaborative student projects, beautiful student portfolios and much more. Once you know how to build a Site you will find plenty of uses for them around your school. Even if you know nothing at all about web design, you'll leave this workshop with a lot of ideas and the start of your new website!

Putting Google Forms to work in your school

Google Forms are a great way to collect information quickly from students, parents and staff and they can be used for surveys, polls and even quizzes. The session will help you become an expert as we learn to create Forms using all the different options available to you, including the images, videos and even the brand new Quiz feature.
