Prompt Engineering

Talking to a large language model is like talking to an extremely capable, but extremely literal assistant. As educators, we have experience and expertise in pre-planning our message before carefully articulating it to our students. Prompt engineering requires this same process.

Prompt Frames

Prompt frames are an excellent way to get started with prompt engineering, by simply filling in the blanks of a pre-made prompt with your desired details (always excluding PII). Click here to access our Prompt Frame Building Resource.

AI Enabled Tools

AI Enabled tools are just like prompt frames. They ask the user for limited input and then add pre-prompting from the developers to help generate the desired output. While the user has less control over the output, it requires less explanation in the prompt. These free AI Enabled tools can be found in Google Classroom when accessed with a school account.
