EDMENTUM - HOW TO CLEAR BROWSER HISTORY AND CACHE

Solution Details: Browsers will automatically save website information to their caches in order to lower load times for that website. Over time, this information can become clogged and cause issues in your browser. Clearing a browser's history and cache will clean out the stored information. These steps will direct you on how to clear the cache for your preferred browser.

Internet Explorer:

1. Click “Tools” or the gear icon at the top of Internet Explorer.

2. Select “Internet Options”.

3. Select “Delete” under Browsing history in the General tab.

4. Make sure the boxes next to Temporary Internet Files and Cookies are checked, then hit “delete”.

5. Important: Once complete, close then restart the browser.

Firefox:

1. Click the Firefox menu icon in the top right of your browser (the three horizontal bars).

2. Select “Library”, and then "History".

3. Under History, click the "Clear Recent History…" option.

4. Select "Everything" for the Time range to clear.

5. Check the boxes next to items to delete. You’ll want to make sure the boxes next to “Cookies” and “Cache” are checked.

6. Now you can hit Clear Now and close and reopen the browser to restart it.

Chrome:

1. Click the Chrome menu icon on the browser toolbar (the three vertical dots).

2. Select “History.“

3. Click History on the menu to the side.

4. Select “Clear browsing data".

5. In the dialog that appears, select the check-boxes for the types of information that you want to remove. We recommend Advanced with the first four checked.

6. Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data that you want to delete. Select "All Time" to delete everything.

7. Click Clear data.

Safari (Mac):

1. Click Safari in the upper left hand side of your screen.

2. Choose "Preferences".

3. Select the "Privacy tab".

4. Click the button"Remove All Website Data".

5. Click "Remove Now" in the pop up window that appears.
