Hey there, fabulous 3rd grade families! I’m Jessica Cowin, your ELA teacher, and I’m beyond excited to kick off an amazing year of reading, writing, and growing together in 3rd grade! I live in southern Missouri with my husband, six dogs (yes, six!), and one very not-so-patient cat. I earned my dual degree in Elementary and Special Education from Grand Canyon University, followed by a Master’s in Reading—because I love books that much. When I’m not diving into a good story, you’ll find me camping, gardening, floating on the water, or laughing with family and friends. I believe learning should be joyful, messy, and full of discovery. My classroom motto?

Hi! My name is Heather Groom and I I live just outside San Diego, CA with my husband, two children, two dogs, and a cat. This is my 7th year teaching, but it is my 11th year working in the classroom and it is a real passion of mine. I worked with Special Education for 5 years prior to becoming a teacher myself, where I have had the honor of teaching Kindergarten through 5th grade. I am so excited for this school year and look forward to inspiring learning across all subjects.

I live in Michigan with my husband and three daughters. I have been a teacher for 21 years now and it is a real passion of mine. I taught 3rd and 4th grade in the brick & mortar classroom for five years and I was the Reading Specialist for a K-5th brick & mortar school for two years. Since then, I have been working with students online and this is my fourth year partnering with EdOptions Academy to provide virtual learning to our elementary students. I am so excited about our start to the school year!

I have been an educator for over 20 years now and it is a real passion of mine. I live in Pennsylvania with my two teenagers and two dogs; a pitbull/boxer mix named Oreo and a bulldog named Bentley. I enjoy spending time with my family and hanging out at the beach. For the past 10 years I have worked virtually with students and have been lucky enough to work with all elementary grade levels. I love working virtually and being an option for students who choose not to work in the brick and mortar classroom building. We have some amazing technology tools to help learners everywhere find the most success that they can virtually, however our work together this year is truly a team effort. I look forward to working with you all this school year!
