Weekly Work

Family Time- First and foremost, we believe in family. We encourage you to relax and enjoy time together. Children need to play, explore, eat family meals, talk with each other, and read for entertainment.

Stick with It Review- Students are given the opportunity to show their Bomber P.R.I.D.E by putting forth Effort at home each week. This practice page will help reinforce the skills we are learning at school. We challenge your child to practice and “Stick with It”. If your Kinder returns this practice page by Friday, of each week, they will receive a stick in their Bucket Filler bucket. Our ‘buckets’ are filled when Kinders show a lot of effort! They will be rewarded for their extra practice to help them “Stick with It”! During our Closing Meeting each day, we go over the nightly practice jobs and complete one together. Therefore, your Kinder should be able to do this work on their own. Thank you for your support and encouragement for your Kinder to “Stick with It” while they practice the skills and show good Effort at home this year. Filling our buckets is important; however family time is the most important. We encourage you to relax and enjoy time together in the evening. Children need to play, explore, eat dinner as a family, have conversations and enjoy reading for fun when they get home from school. We work hard during the school day and do not expect any significant amount of time to be spent on this “Stick with It” option; this is just an extra way for students to show effort and fill their buckets!

Practice Pages- Please help your child practice reading these letters and sentences at home. There are many familiar words, decodable words, as well as sight words to practice reading. These papers do not come back to school. The teachers will sometimes check your child's reading to monitor progress.

Let's Find Out magazine- On Wednesdays, we read this magazine together in class. Your child takes a copy home with them. You may read this magazine and discuss it with your child. This does not get returned to school.

Special Assignments- Throughout the year, the teachers will send home project assignments. These usually involve a creative activity for the family to complete together. Directions for these assignments will be sent home with the assignments.
