How I got here and why: It is a privilege to serve the students and families of Edon-NW since 2015. It was in 2015 that I first had the opportunity to work at Edon-NW through the Safe Schools Healthy Students Initiative. Our focus was on promoting the importance of student social, emotional, and mental health, along with connecting families with community resources. Through this process I have been able to work with amazing students and many wonderful, dedicated families. Together we have been building stronger connections between the students, families, school, and community.
It is not easy growing up: As the student services care coordinator I can also provide additional support to students. Students may request to meet with me for issues related to; problem solving, trying to make the best choices, peer relationship concerns, handling stress and emotions. Whether related to academics, social issues, family or friends, an on going problem of concern or just a bad day, support can be provided. Sometimes this may be an office meeting or just a quick check in. Having additional support is proven in helping students feel better. Parents and guardians can also request this support if concerns arise.
Communication is important: Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time during the school year. I am here to discuss your concerns confidentially and review options with you. Sometimes just talking through the issue can provide new options not originally considered. Working together, families, students, and our school we can strengthen student personal and academic success. Our students, your children, our future. Thank you.
