Together, we’ll explore how you can use this “live” virtual format to build relationships and make the often-passive nature of online learning feel more interactive and engaging. We’ll also discuss why the label of “Synchronous Lesson” can be a bit of a misnomer, as this form of instruction often works best when you blend it with Asynchronous moments.

Description: Teachers will walk away with strategies that Ednovate teachers are using to help that last 10-15% of our scholars successfully complete their work. It will build on the principles from the last mini-PD, but will focus on the replicable moves that are helping students who are struggling to meet deadlines and to “catch up” if they’ve fallen behind.

Description: Given that most of the instruction our students are receiving is asynchronous, one of our best proxies for whether students are learning is the rate at which they are completing high-quality work. In this required PD, teachers will look at the teacher plans and design practices that are leading to greater rates of completion, engagement, and deeper learning. Educators will learn ways they can add to and refine their design practices so that their students get the most out of the lessons that they work hard to produce.
