We turned our STEAM heads on this week, completing coding challenges to build our very own version of Flappy Bird.
Once we had warmed up our minds, we needed to get active. Each group has been working away on a different building challenge - Gear changing car, Elevator, Dog walking robot, Swimming fish, Crawling gecko.
We were learning all about force this week and had great fun creating a working parachute for our Eggy friends. (I think we all also loved watching our 'control' egg smash)
With every group being successful in 'trial 1' we slowly started removing different resources to see which build would be the most economic- using the least amount of resources.
We absolutely love Science and were lucky enough to have a visitor in from the Library. We got transported into a CSI investigation where we needed to conduct three different experiments to see who the criminal was!
Happy Halloween everyone. Have a wonderful and safe midterm break

Our local Gardaí came in to teach us all about the dangers of fireworks and explosives. Thank you for preparing us for Halloween and teaching us how to be safe.
We had a brilliant week this week helping classes on their maths trails and compelting daily problem solving challenges. We even had time to code microbit to complete different maths problems!
Sister Anna came in again to help us prepare for our Confirmation. She taught us all about the most important moments in our lives including the sacraments. We are very grateful for her giving time out of her busy schedule to help us.
We had an amazing day celebrating GOAL and raising money for a wonderful cause.
We began our cross stitching journey this week and we are obsessed. We love planning our designs and then creating them with thread.
We have been exploring different Maths challenges this week on our fantastic Chromebooks and by using historic methods (such as Mayan numbers).

Country Projects🗺️
This week we have been working on our country projects. We worked in our groups to prepare Google Slide presentations and all had an opportunity to speak. Our countries were all outside of Europe and we learned a lot from each other.
For friendship week we took each class out for PE. We worked in pairs and spent a lot of time with our buddies. On Friday, we spent DEAR time with our buddies in the infant classroom.
