To be considered for federal financial aid, you must complete and submit a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) each year.  Additionally, most states, colleges, and universities use the FAFSA to award other types of student aid, including state- and college-sponsored financial aid, such as grants, educational loans, and work-study programs.  This is a free application!  Never pay to complete or submit the FAFSA form.

Today, The Common Application (Common App) is a non-profit membership organization representing nearly 900 diverse institutions of higher education. We connect applicants and those who support them to a wide array of public and private colleges and universities across all 50 U.S. states, and 20 countries.

Each year, more than one million students - a third of whom are first generation - apply to college, research financial aid and scholarships, and connect to college counseling resources through Common App.

Oklahoma’s Promise allows 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th grade students from families meeting certain income requirements to earn a college or technology center tuition scholarship. Students must also meet academic and conduct requirements in high school.  The initial income requirement now takes into consideration the number of dependents.  For more information and to apply: http://okpromise.org

Smurthwaite Scholarship and Leadership house at Kansas State University

Smurthwaite is an on-campus community in which up to 45 women live. We are looking for women that show our five pillars:

Some of the best parts of Smurthwaite include our price as the cheapest on-campus living option, the values of our pillars, our great community, the many events we plan, our proximity to campus, and having our own parking lot.

We require our members to maintain a 3.0 GPA, perform a weekly cleaning duty and desk duty, and fulfill other requirements  in order to maintain our affordability. In return, we offer rates and benefits that no other college housing option offers, including: free printing, off street parking, spacious bedrooms, and many more amenities that can be found on our website here. Our home can save students anywhere from $1,000-$6,000 in housing prices alone in addition to in-house scholarships!
