The Edmond Public Schools Red Dirt Book Award was established in 2018 to celebrate recent books that are loved by our students. The Edmond Middle School Media Directors select 14 – 16 titles from a variety of genres. These titles are then voted on by students who have read 3 or more of the titles before April 2024.

Need a book idea? Enjoy STEM activities and want to try some at home? Look at some of these ideas!
During this time of new adventures and adjustments to our new "normal" we want students to have access to all the books! Unfortunately, for the time being we have to restrict the number available to check out to TWO (instead of three) books due to quarantine times. To make up for this here are a few places we recommend finding age appropriate ebooks for free!

As always, you are also welcome to get a library card from the Metropolitan Library system, and use apps like Libby and Overdrive, however you will need parent consent and support to checkout books online through these applications. These apps are not available at school (no phones 7:10-2:15), but for at home use this is an excellent option!
Most can be accessed without a username and password, however if you are not on site several may request access. Email Mrs. Schreck at ally.schreck@edmondschools.net for more information!
If you need more information or want help getting set up with a program please email ally.schreck@edmondschools.net and schedule a time to meet!
