The World is In Your Hands
Scientific evidence shows that our world is rapidly heating.
Long-term global temperature records clearly show the Earth is warming. The global average temperature has already risen by 1.4°C since the Industrial Revolution.
While the earth’s climate has varied throughout history, scientists agree that the significant changes we’ve seen over the past 150 years have been due to human activities.
Recent warming is happening at a rate that is much faster than previous climatic changes.
Decisions that we all make today can shape the world for decades and even centuries to come. Not only are these actions good for the environment, but they are also good for personal and community health, equity, environmental justice, quality of life

About the exhibit: this exhibit shares how through the study of weather patterns and changing landscapes, communities and scientists gather vital information that helps us prepare for the future and build stronger, more resilient communities.
How to see it: the exhibit can support both hosted and unhosted visits in the Edmonds College Libarary. Check the Library's operating hours, for a time for you to drop by and explore the exhibit.

In 2018, the IPCC concluded that the world must cut emissions to net zero by no later than 2050 to have a chance of limiting warming to 1.5 ̊C. This meant that global carbon dioxide emissions would need to be roughly halved by 2030.
This website will help you learn about your impact on the environment, changes you can make to have a positive effect, and how to make change in your community.
