Creating a Strong Password

Your Edmonds Community College Academic Computer Service user account requires you to have a strong password.

• Minimum length - eight characters.
• Maximum days before required change: 120.
• Change your password with the Student Account Management Tool.

While all security is important, your password should also be easy for you to remember. For our systems at EdCC, a strong password will be:

• a minimum of eight characters in length.
• use characters from three (3) of the four (4) main character sets
• upper case alphabetic (A, B, C,...Z)
• lower case alphabetic (a, b, c,...z)
• Arabic numerals (0, 1, 2...9)
• non-alphanumeric characters. ($, ?, #, =, etc...)
