Pre-Employment Services are intended to help students with disabilities, as early as age 14, who could benefit from an early start in exploring career interests.


Job and career Exploration

Students will identify their interests, how it relates to employment and participate in activities that can develop their future employment skills.

work-based learning

Students will identify their strengths and challenges as they relate to work-relevant skills, participate in work-site tours and job shadowing experiences and learn proper employment behaviors.

Post-SEcondary Opportunities

Students will learn about jobs typical of high schoolers and adults with a high school diploma, how to select classes to meet their future goals and learn the steps and requirements for applying to post-secondary options.

self-advocacy

Students will demonstrate an understanding of his/her disability and learn how to communicate to others what he/she needs to be successful. They will demonstrate their self-regulation skills by setting a goal, making a plan, and reflecting on their progress.

workplace readiness

Students will learn the essential and expected employment skills of employers. Students will learn the importance of hygiene and neat appearances for work and participate in mock interviews, complete applications and resume templates.
