About Mrs. Coscarelli

Teaching

Mrs. Coscarelli is the homeroom teacher for class 5-2. She is the ELA and Social Studies teacher for both 5-1 and 5-2.

I have been teaching in Edison Township Public Schools for 22 years. This is my 18th year teaching at James Madison Intermediate School. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade here, though I am currently teaching 5th grade. I was also a Basic Skills Paraprofessional for three years and taught 3rd grade for one year at James Monroe.

Interests

My family and I are big Disney fans and visit Walt Disney World each year. I enjoy going to Broadway shows and music concerts whenever I can. I also love to read books and am a big fan of watching old movies in my spare time. Cooking is a passion of mine and I watch cooking shows and try new recipes often.

Family

My family is the most important thing to me. My husband, Alan, and I have three wonderful children.

My son, Michael, just turned 32 years old. He works as the Manager of Podcast Production for a social media concern and lives in New York City.

My daughter, Nicole, is 29 years old. She has Down Syndrome and is a Special Olympic swimmer. She swam on Team New Jersey in the 2014 Special Olympics National Summer Games. She attends classes during the day and has a very busy social life.

My youngest daughter, Marissa, is a 26 year old. She is currently working as a Speech Language Pathologist and services patients at Children's Specialized Hospital. She recently got engaged and is getting married in October, 2022.
