Chamber Orchestra 2021-2022

John P. Stevens High School Orchestra prepares its students to be lifelong musicians by providing engaging literature. They perform music with and without a conductor and learn different styles of playing from Baroque to Jazz. These 9 -12 grade students share their talent with the school and community by performing at a variety of events including senior homes and school fundraisers. In the fall of 2016, the orchestra was invited to perform at a joint concert with the Catholic University of America’s Symphonic Orchestra at the Embassy of Italy in Washington, D.C. In 2017, NAfME Eastern Division Conference selected the symphonic orchestra as a featured ensemble with a performance of “Song of Democracy” by Howard Hanson at the general session keynote address. The chamber orchestra was chosen to perform at Music for All National Orchestra Festival in 2019 in Indianapolis, IN.
