About EVP Summer School
Edina Virtual Pathway Summer School Courses are open to all Edina students.
Courses will run from June 9th through August 15th.
Courses cost $360 per semester ($720 for a full-year course.)
Student Expectations:
Students selecting a full-year course should attempt to take both semesters of the course during the summer when possible.
The entire course will be made available at the beginning of the term. Students are responsible for making progress throughout the summer.
Summer courses occur at an accelerated pace, relative to the school-year. Students should expect to dedicate at least seven hours per week per course, and about twice that if intending to complete a full-year course.
Students are expected to check their school email at least weekly and to respond to messages from their teachers. In the case of online coursework, electronic communication is especially vital. Teachers and students have a right to expect timely responses from each other.
Financial aid is available for qualifying students through Edina Give and Go.

Algebra II
MA4V38S1 and MA4V38S2PREREQUISITE: Algebra 1 and Intermediate Algebra OR Compacted AlgebraGRADE: 9, 10, 11, 12LENGTH: Full Year, S1 and S2MEETS REQUIREMENT FOR: Algebra 2 This course will continue the study of functions started in previous Algebra course(s). Through the study of specific functions: notably linear, exponential, and polynomial functions, students will begin to see the structure of functions, and will work with various types of numbers, from rational and irrational to complex. Students will apply properties of numbers and properties of equality to carry out operations with different functions, with the goal of seeing the applicability to a wide range of phenomena that are natural or of human origin. The focus of transforming functions will help students build connections between the algebraic and graphical representation of functions.Algebra II
Chemistry
SC4V12S1 and SC4V12S2PREREQUISITE: Physical Earth ScienceGRADE: 10LENGTH: Full Year, S1 and S2MEETS REQUIREMENT FOR: Chemistry This year-long course is designed to meet the needs of those students who are college-bound, and whose interests generally lie in the social sciences and humanities. It is less mathematically oriented than Enriched Chemistry. Topics include the scientific method, properties of matter, atomic structure, periodic table, energy relationships to chemical reactions, formula writing and equations, mole concepts, acid-base chemistry and chemical bonding. Laboratory work is extensive and includes qualitative and quantitative analyses. Students will be expected to solve basic algebra problems. Credit achieved for this course meets state graduation requirements.Chemistry
Geometry
MA4V11S1 and MA4V11S2PREREQUISITE: Algebra IGRADE: 9, 10, 11, 12LENGTH: Full Year, S1 and S2MEETS REQUIREMENT FOR: GeometryGeometry
The principal emphasis of this course is the study of geometric concepts and applications. Coordinates, measurement ideas (including area and volume), congruence and similarity are studied. Geometric constructions are described as algorithms. Prior study of algebra, through the linear systems and the quadratic formula, is required. Students in this course will be assessed on the high school standard for math applications on the concepts of shape, space and measurement.
