An Inclusion and Well-Being Team
To develop an inclusive education system that enables full participation and supports every child and adult to meet their full potential.
Awsaj Academy is a specialized school that addresses the needs of students with mild-to-moderate learning challenges. It believes that each student, despite any difficulties they may face, can flourish under proper guidance. Through multi-tiered systems of support, it ensures that students receive the necessary behavioral and academic interventions to close learning gaps. It is the only school of its kind in Qatar. The school offers an American and Qatar High School Diploma with recognized accreditation from the Middle States Association and Council of International Schools. Students who graduate from Awsaj demonstrate proficiency in both Arabic and English.
Renad Academy is a specialized school for Autism in Qatar and the region. We are passionate about our work to advance the quality of life for all people with autism. We offer Individualized instruction for each child in their classroom, using industry best practices. Renad currently serves approximately 100 students in the Bani Hajer campus, with 3 other QF School locations housing a classroom for Renad students, as well.
At Warif Academy, guided by Islamic principles, we envision a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student with profound and multiple learning disabilities can thrive and reach their full potential. Rooted in compassion, justice, and mercy, our goal is to be a beacon of excellence in special education, recognized nationally and internationally for our commitment to empowering students and fostering a sense of belonging.
The Learning Center (TLC) provides relevant and high-quality support services to students across Qatar Foundation Schools in addition to recently launching an outreach center - DARB. The DARB Outreach Center will offer educational evaluations and therapy services for children and adolescents ages 3 to 18 years in the following areas: Cognitive and Psychoeducational Evaluations, Speech and Language & Occupational Therapy, ABA Services, Gifted and Talented Evalution and Reading Intervention.
Ability Friendly Sports currently offers coaching and sports activities to QF and non-QF students with disabilities at a discounted rate so all families may participate. These sports include football, swimming, cricket and handball.
Staff-oriented services providing consultation, resource development, and professional learning to schools and TLC. Inclusion and Wellbeing supports the full implementation of PUE’s Inclusion Policy, Inclusion Procedures, Inclusion Guidelines, Wellbeing Guidelines, Child Protection Policy, Code of Conduct, and Strategic Objectives 1 and 2. All of these efforts are conducted in alignment with the Curriculum Framework and in collaborative consultation with school-based leadership.
Gifted education programs within Qatar Foundation schools are part of the of special programs for all children with needs. These programs are designed to cater to individual differences, promote equal educational opportunities, and foster each child's fullest development. Gifted And Talented Education is an important element towards catering to the diversity of students both within QF Schools and in Qatar.
QF has an intention to be the leader in providing opportunities for this student category in Qatar.
The direction outlined in this plan presents an opportunity for PUE to bring together the field and community of those supporting gifted and talented children/students and work collaboratively to strengthen our knowledge, expand our advocacy, listen and support each other, and advance equity for all our students.
