About the CLAWs:

The inaugural EMS CLAW Book Awards, EMS's very own book award, will take place in 2024. Our team of Student Library Assistants and I have collaborated to curate a long list for our first award cycle. Staff will join us to help determine the short list in the fall. In spring, all of EMS will narrow down the shortlist to our first CLAW Book Award Winner!

When nominating and selecting books for the CLAW Book Awards, it is essential to consider criteria such as student engagement, literary quality, appropriateness for the target age group, factual and fair representation, and captivating content. This ensures that the chosen book truly deserves the recognition of this esteemed accolade.

Award cycle:

Long List announced in May.  (Books chosen by the MEDIA Team)

Short List announced in September. (Books chosen by the MEDIA Team and Staff)

Winner is announed in March. (Book chosen by tournament style by entire school.)
