I was born and raised in Edgerton and graduated from UW Stout with a degree in Vocational Rehabilitation/Special Education. I was a high school Special Education teacher in the Milwaukee area before moving back to Edgerton in 1999. My husband and I have three children: Cassie, Erin, and Evan. Six years ago I permanently joined the Edgerton School District as the CES library teacher. Prior to that I was a parent volunteer and substitute teacher in the district. I love spending time with my family and friends, cooking, traveling, and time outdoors. Historical Fiction is my favorite genre but I love any genre that results in staying up way past my bedtime to see what happens next. I also continue to purchase picture books for my personal collection even though my children are all grown up. I love love love picture books. I cannot imagine a better profession than spending time with our CES students sharing ideas, new discoveries, and the excitement of a wonderful story.

I was raised in Edgerton and graduated from UW-Whitewater with a Master’s degree in Communication. I taught a public speaking course at UW-Whitewater for two years before joining the Edgerton School District. I sincerely enjoy working with students in the library--helping them with their homework or searching for a new book. Growing up, I always enjoyed reading classic novels, from Charlotte's Web to Animal Farm. Now, I strive to read books of all genres, my new favorite being stories that portray neurodiversity, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder or ADHD. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, collecting a variety of non-fiction books, attempting to solve crossword puzzles, and traveling throughout the midwest.

This is my 23rd year with the Edgerton School District, and I've been in the High School Library for the past 6 years. I absolutely LOVE working with students in the library, helping them with their online classes, their homework or with selecting the next good book to read. I also am one of the Senior Class Advisors, and I help plan the EHS Senior Class Trip! I have too many "favorite" books to pick just one, but a favorite book that I often recommend is The Help by Kathryn Stockett. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, my children and my granddaughter, as well as traveling, volunteering, gardening, following the New York Yankees and of course, READING!!
