Various psychological services and resources are available to Edgemont Jr./Sr. High School students. School psychologists are available to support students' social and emotional needs through individual and group counseling, assessment, consultation with teachers or parents, and crisis intervention.
Dr. Greenwald and Ms. Murphy coordinate the Teen TALK program for eighth grade students. They also coordinate panel discussions on the appropriate use of social media in the elementary schools and train high school students to serve as panelists.
Dr. Shapiro coordinates the Peer Leadership and Peer Advocacy programs for students in the senior high school. He also coordinates the Wii De-Stress program which meets once per cycle for the seventh graders the eighth graders during their lunch periods.
All three school psychologists facilitate weekly advisory groups in the Phaedrus (Alternative School) program. Also, along with the school counselors, the school psychologists coordinate the Seventh Grade Mentorship program, which connects high schoolers to our youngest students to ease seventh graders transitions' to EHS.
Dr. Greenwald advises the Peer-to-Peer Mental Health Awareness Club.
Dr. Shapiro advises the Gay Straight Alliance and co-advises the No Place for Hate club with Health Educator, Kerri Hirsch. He is also the Head Coach of the Girls Varsity Golf Team and Directs the Fall Drama for the high school.
Ms. Murphy is the advisor for the GA (student government for the junior high school).
