Mission Statement
Our goal is to teach students to communicate effectively in a new language. Through study of a world language, we aim to
…heighten students’ awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the world;
…give students tools and skills to connect effectively with diverse cultures;
…help students reflect upon their own culture and language.
Welcome to the Edgemont World Language Department website. We are pleased to offer a range of beginning, intermediate, and advanced level language offerings in French, Latin, and Spanish. On these pages you can find information regarding the scope and sequence of each of our language offerings, as well as placement criteria for advanced level study.
