My name is Daniela Winkler, I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina, and this is my fifth year teaching 5th grade at Merriwether Elementary.
I am originally from Germany, my parents moved to the United States when I was 3 years old. I grew up in the Midwest in Joplin, Missouri. I love sharing my German heritage and language with my students. My parents also live in North Augusta and come to the school as often as they can.
I have two children, Kaitlyn and Olivia. Kaitlyn is 15 and very involved in school clubs and activities. She plays volleyball for Paul Knox and softball on multiple teams including North Augusta High School. Olivia is 14 and is my creative child. Most of the art work hanging in my classroom was created by Olivia.
Outside of school, I love to read, cook and bake. I enjoy spending time outdoors, and you are likely to find me on the Greenway or at the ballpark on the weekends!
I am an avid coffee drinker and I love chocolate, especially with caramel. My favorite colors are pink and black. My favorite places to shop include Target, TJ Maxx, and 2nd and Charles - I could live in a bookstore!
