This Week in Movers and Shakers

 Our in person classes will include Gym time, playtime in the room with all of the toys, different art projects each week, and song and story time with our caregivers.   We also separate during the class with other parents and Karen our Parent Educator while the children play with their children's teachers, Katie.

Karen Linscott, Parent Educator

What is your professional background? I have an Elementary Education degree and taught for 10 years in an elementary setting before completing my Masters in Family Education at the University of Minnesota. 

How long have you been an educator?  I have been a teacher in some capacity for over 33 years, with 23 years as a parent educator with Eden Prairie Schools. 

Who is in your family? My husband Mason and I have been married 28 years and have two adult children, Laurie and Nelson.  We also have a dog named Patches.  

Personal interests? I love walking, golfing, bird watching...anything outside.  I also love spending time with my family!  

Katie Altenburg , Early Childhood Educator

What is your professional background?  I have an Early Childhood/ K-3 Education Degree.  I taught kindergarten in Wisconsin before moving to Minnesota. I took 20 years off to stay home with my 3 children and now working with the Eden Prairie Schools in ECFE.

How long have you been an educator? I have been with the Eden Prairie Schools for 5 years now and I love spending time with all of the  families. 

Who is in your family? Jeff is my husband and we have been together for 30 years and he is still the love of my life. I have 3 adult children, Karl 25,  who graduated from University of Arizona and is now trying out for Special Forces in the Army, Ian is 23 and is going into law school at Liberty University in VA, Ireland just started Liberty University in VA and is going into nursing. 

Personal interests? I love pretty much everything except bird watching:)
