Supplementary Services

In keeping with our mission, to improve education through interdistrict and interagency collaboration, EDCO Collaborative provides services for our member districts as requested. Consider us for your onsite professional learning needs!

Mentoring / Coaching

EDCO offers an annual mentoring program for new and aspiring special education administrators. The program consists of five two-hour workshops geared toward all aspects of leadership in special education. Taught by veteran special education administrators, the course covers areas of administration not typically addressed in special education administrator degree or licensure programs such as budget development, circuit breaker, and due process.

Coaching is also available for new or aspiring administrators through EDCO’s executive director or associate executive director. Coaching terms are negotiable.

Program Reviews

EDCO leadership will provide comprehensive reviews of your substantially separate programs or your special services department. Reviews may include on-site focus groups, observations, surveys, record reviews, and other components by request. For more information, email Nadine Ekstrom at nekstrom@edcollab.org.

IDEAS Workshops

To prepare your community for the long-term work of dismantling systems of oppression within your institution, IDEAS can craft a series of entry-level workshops for your group on a variety of topics. Click here to learn more.

Affinity Groups

MAALANA educators are Multiracial, Asian, Arab, African Descent, Latino/a, and/or Native American teachers, advisors, counselors, administrators, staff, and tutors who are the “only” or “one of few” of their “affinity group” in their building or school system. We see all interactions as “cross cultural communications” and like to meet with other educators of color to talk about students of color. For more information, please contact Claudia Fox Tree at cfoxtree@gmail.com.

The IDEAS Book group provides an opportunity for educators from IDEAS and EDCO districts to meet and share thoughts on the selected books and to discuss how they relate to educational practices and current events.

IDEAS member districts are invited to send students to the annual middle and high school student conferences. Both conferences engage students from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds in conversations on issues of racism, stereotypes, discrimination, and ally behavior.
