ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF EMPLOYERS AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS
Interview student and provide feedback on their interview and resume package
Develop a weekly schedule for working days and hours (15 hours per week for two (2) credits, 30 hours per week for four (4) credits)
Sign the Work Education Agreement (WEA)
Work with the co-op teacher and student to identify and develop workplace expectations
Choose an employee to be responsible for supervising and evaluating each student
Give clear instructions and supervise their learning experiences
Review and sign students' log sheets at the end of each week to verify hours and activities
Offer a variety of tasks to the student each day
Share expertise with a student
Provide real work experience in a safe learning environment free from discrimination and harassment
Report student absence to the teacher immediately
Contact the teacher when a concern arises
Provide health and safety training
Follow Accidents and Injuries Reporting Procedures
