Australian Curriculum: Science

OVERVIEW

In Year 7 – 10 students learn about Biological, Chemical, Physical and Earth & Space science topics and develop their enquiry skills by investigating the world around them. Students design and conduct experiments to collect relevant data. They process, interpret, evaluate and communicate this information in meaningful ways. Students are provided with opportunities to enhance their scientific literacy and twenty-first century skills to become confident, creative and globally minded individuals, capable of making informed decisions about the world they live in.

 

The Australian Curriculum also includes the following perspectives:

 

Australian Curriculum General Capabilities

Literacy, Numeracy, ICT Capability, Critical and Creative Thinking, Personal and Social Capability, Ethical Understanding, and Intercultural Understanding.

 

Australian Curriculum Cross-Curricular Priorities

Sustainability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Culture, and Asia and Australia's Engagement with Asia.
