Spanish overview

This is the overview website of the IB MYP Spanish Language Acquisition course at Telopea Park School. In Spanish, students will develop skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking from a Phase 1 Emergent level in Year 7. In addition to the IB MYP curriculum, the students are assessed against the Australian Curriculum for Spanish (Year 7 entry sequence).

Spanish is the world's second-most spoken native language and is an official language in 21 countries. It is a global language with nearly 500 million native speakers. It is the third most used language on internet websites after English and Chinese. It is also one of the most taught foreign languages throughout the world.
