Students
Science Mentors ACT is by application only and requires the endorsement of your current science teacher. Apply for the 2026 program by filling this application form by Friday 12 December 2025.
You will find that the application form cannot be saved as you go, so I suggest viewing the sample version and saving your responses in another document. You can then copy and paste your responses into the official application form.
In your application, you should identify a field of interest in science, maths or engineering. If you are successful in gaining entry to the program, the convenor will match with you with a mentor who has either already expressed interest in supporting projects in related fields or, where necessary, will reach out to researchers to find a suitable mentor who can guide you in your chosen area of study. This approach allows for a diverse range of projects each year, reflecting both current scientific opportunities and student curiosity.
