While Narrabundah College is working online, we will be working from a modified timetable.
The requirements for each of your subjects may vary, so it is important to be in contact with your teacher and read the Google Classroom page for each subject daily.
Create your weekly timetable, noting when you are required to be in online conferences.
Email teachers for help with queries and questions frequently to support your learning.
Teachers will be available for an online conference at least once a week. Some subjects may require more than 1 lesson a week as an online conference and they may be compulsory to attend. Your teacher will inform you which of the lessons for the class are online conferences and if they are compulsory. You will need to take note of these. You may find it helpful to use the routine creator to have a timetable of when you are required to be present for online conference lessons.
You may wish to view the "Useful Chrome Extensions" page via the button at the top. It details some add-ons to chrome that are useful for online learning through Google Classrooms.
Do the work posted on Google classrooms by your teacher. This work is to be completed in your own time, but it is recommended you follow the timetable and complete each week’s work by the following Monday. This will prevent you from falling behind in a subject.
Within each post, teachers will provide resources and activities to complete.
Teachers will also ask you to submit a task, or provide an answer/s to a question/s. Your submission/response will acknowledge you have completed and engaged with the classwork.
Teachers will be monitoring student engagement and completion of tasks.
If you are unsure of the process for your subject, speak to your teacher or the Faculty Head for that subject area.
Google Classroom, with Google Meets, is an educational platform. So to use them appropriately:
Participate, show your engagement by asking questions, sharing comments
Show respect in all forms of communication (video, chat, posts, forums)
Limit your use of the camera, mute your microphone when appropriate
Follow any other the guidelines set down by your classroom teacher
Parents and/or siblings are not to join in the Google Meets
If parents need to make contact with the class teacher they can do so through the usual channels.
Teachers can be contacted via Google Classroom comments and email.
Teachers will respond to your queries within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).
See the Communication page regarding how to contact your teachers.
